A CROSS-SECTOR coalition promoting ease of doing business and accelerating the country's adoption of digital transformation has received support from more business groups.

The Buklod Bayani Coalition (BBC) reaffirmed partnerships with the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Anti-Red Tape Authority and signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with business groups led by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).

The coalition "serves as a testament to the notion that every individual has a role to play in addressing social issues and fostering progress," BBC Secretary General Roberto Alvarez Jr. said on Tuesday.

Through the partnership, the BBC would provide an assistance platform to make business-related processes convenient for enterprising organizations.

Businesses would then gain access to information, a directory of government and non-government services, real-time monitoring and tracking of compliance processes, and conflict resolution dialogue.

"We have embarked upon a dialogue addressing this disconnect, with the shared goal of transitioning from mere routine to a paradigm of enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in conducting business," said Alvarez.

Speaking with The Manila Times, PCCI President Enunina Mangio said the coalition would be fully funded by the private sector through sponsorships and donations.

The BBC would focus on finalizing its organizational structure during the early part of the year so the elected officers and trustees could "start doing the planning," Mangio noted.

Private-sector signatories to the agreement include the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. and the Employers Confederation of the Philippines.

Earlier this year, the BBC signed a MoA with partners from Raise, a Singapore-based nonprofit organization that affirmed a commitment to supporting the coalition via global endorsements and grants for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
