Govt worker hurt in Mindoro gun attack

A 29-YEAR-OLD surveyman of the San Jose municipal planning and development office was wounded after a gun attack along Ubas Road, Doña Consuelo Subdivision, Barangay Pag-asa, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro on Monday.

San Jose Police chief LtCol. Jeny Magan said that the victim was driving a government issued white Toyota Fortuner when he was fired upon by three unidentified men onboard two motorcycles who immediately fled after the attack.

The victim, identified only as Joseph, was alone in the vehicle when he was ambushed at about 6:30 p.m. He sustained a gunshot wound near his neck and was rushed to San Jose District Hospital where he is currently recuperating.

Witnesses said they heard three gunshots but authorities only found one shell casing in the crime scene.

The authorities also said that there were no closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the area and they have yet to determine the identity of suspects and the motive behind the crime.
