IN partnership with the City Government of San Fernando and as part of its commitment to help and capacitate its local partners in conducting history and heritage work, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) will hold its first local government unit (LGU) training on History and Heritage for 2024 in Region 3 (Central Luzon) at the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
This training activity will equip LGU workers with essential skills and knowledge to conduct basic historical research, commemorations, conservation and documentation.
The program will be a 3-day workshop at the Heroes' Hall, Lazatin Boulevard, San Fernando, Pampanga from March 4 to 6, 2024. This training is free for all participants.
Mayor Vilma Caluag of the City of San Fernando will deliver the welcome remarks, followed by a message from NHCP Executive Director Carminda Arevalo. This program is part of the NHCP's mandate in bringing history and heritage closer to the people across the country.
The commission will also be holding a short press briefer to share upcoming programs and projects in Central Luzon and the rest of the country.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
