National Thesaurus Day is celebrated on January 18 to honor Peter Mark Roget, the author of Roget’s Thesaurus. Roget retired in 1840 and dedicated the rest of his life to creating the first thesaurus in 1852. The word 'thesaurus' has its origins in the Sanskrit word Amarakosha. Read The Rest at :
