Electronics manufacturers hope for stricter tariffs on China, return of Donald Trump

Some are privately hoping for a return of Donald Trump in the White House for his campaign promise to bring exempted goods like laptops and smartphones on the list of items that now attract 25% anti-dumping tariffs on import from China. This, in the hope that a large chunk of production would then shift to other regions as a result of Chinese exports becoming more expensive for electronics brands.
