The Karnataka government has directed its departments and entities to cease all transactions with State Bank of India (SBI) and Punjab National Bank (PNB) following disputes over the redemption of funds linked to scams involving bank employees. Both SBI and PNB have responded, stating that they are in discussions with the state for an amicable resolution. The issue, now sub judice, arose after Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board and Karnataka State Pollution Control Board faced difficulties in withdrawing deposits totaling ₹22 crore.
