Vande Bharat and Shatabdi trains on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad rout will operate at 160 kmph from August 15. Railway Board instructed Mumbai and Vadodara divisions to complete necessary work by June 30 for confirmatory oscillograph car runs. COCR is initiated to boost speeds above 120 kmph. Indian Railways project aims to expedite travel on busy routes. Current travel times are 5 hrs 15 mins (Vande Bharat) and 6 hrs 35 mins (Shatabdi) for the 491 km route.
