Hindustan Unilever (HUL) is reducing the content of palm oil and its derivatives in soaps by 25%, a global first, as part of a strategy to offset commodity price volatility and reduce environmental impact. The innovation, called Stratos, took HUL almost five years to develop and will be rolled out in other countries by parent company Unilever.
