CREDAI has praised the new framework for Small and Medium Real Estate Investment Trusts (SM REITs), predicting that it will increase investment in India's property market. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has amended regulations for REITs, allowing fractional ownership of commercial and residential properties. Investors can now own a portion of rent-yielding real estate assets with a minimum investment of Rs 10 lakh.
