The Government of India has approved Mission Mausam, aiming to improve weather forecasting systems and explore artificial weather modification within five years. Lab simulations for artificial rain suppression and enhancement will begin in 18 months. The project also seeks to develop cloud messaging technology inspired by ancient poetry.
