Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar suggested that internal conflicts within the BJP and JD(S) contributed to JD(S) candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy's defeat in the Channapatna assembly bypoll. Shivakumar hinted that members of both parties lent their support to the Congress, leading to their victory in all three assembly constituencies.
