The Centre is expected to exempt GST on term life insurance and senior citizens' health insurance premiums. This follows prolonged advocacy by the West Bengal government. GST will still apply to health insurance coverage above Rs 5 lakh. A final decision will be taken by the GST Council next month, potentially bringing relief to millions of families.
