Maharashtra Cabinet proposes income limit increase for non-creamy layer ahead of elections

Maharashtra's cabinet is seeking to increase the non-creamy layer income limit to Rs 15 lakh per annum from Rs 8 lakh. This move aims to broaden reservation benefits for the OBC community. Ahead of assembly elections, it seeks to address concerns of OBC voters. Haryana's BJP success using a similar strategy is the basis of this move.
