The Supreme Court has sought responses from the Centre and state governments on a plea by Jagtar Singh Hawara, convicted for the 1995 assassination of Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, seeking transfer from Delhi's Tihar Jail to a prison in Punjab. The court issued notices and scheduled a hearing for four weeks later.
