A Congress delegation visiting Sonapur's Kosutoli village to assess the situation after clashes that left two dead was turned away by residents. The group, led by Jakir Hussain Sikdar, was met with protests and anti-Congress slogans. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma accused Congress of inciting violence during an eviction drive in the area.
