Mayawati claims the 2019 BSP-SP alliance failed because Akhilesh Yadav stopped taking her calls after their poor election results. Yadav refutes this, saying he was unaware of the split and tried to contact Mayawati. The BSP is distributing a booklet to reconnect with its cadre ahead of crucial by-polls in Uttar Pradesh.
