National Conference president Farooq Abdullah accused the BJP of defaming his party and emphasised that India belongs to all its citizens, including Muslims. He countered BJP's claims that terrorism would resurface if NC and Congress came to power, asserting their coalition would work towards restoring statehood in Jammu and Kashmir.
