In response to widespread public outrage over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, West Bengal Governor Dr. CV Ananda Bose has instructed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to convene an emergency Cabinet meeting. The Governor emphasized the need for the state government to address demands for justice and consider replacing Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal.
