The CPI (M)-led Kerala government has announced the disbursement of a two-month pension for over 60 lakh beneficiaries as an Onam gift. State Finance Minister K N Balagopal stated that Rs 1,700 crore has been allocated for this purpose. Beneficiaries will receive Rs 3,200 each, with payments starting next week. This move aims to regain the Left government's mass base lost during the Lok Sabha elections.
