On Friday, the Akal Takht declared Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal 'tankhaiya'—guilty of religious misconduct—over mistakes committed by his party during its governance from 2007 to 2017. Badal accepted the verdict and expressed his intention to apologize at the Akal Takht within 15 days, as requested by the jathedar.
