Union minister George Kurian has been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. This follows Jyotiraditya Scindia's election to the Lok Sabha and his resignation from the Upper House. Kurian's unopposed election comes after other nominees either had their papers rejected or withdrew from the race.
