Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Ahmedabad criticized past governments for denying citizenship to refugees due to appeasement policies. He handed over citizenship certificates to 188 Hindu refugees and emphasized that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) is meant to provide justice. Shah assured that CAA does not threaten the citizenship of Muslims.
