Mayawati, the chief of the Bahujan Samaj Party, applauded the Allahabad High Court's recent decision to prepare a new selection list for 69,000 assistant teacher positions in Uttar Pradesh. She stated that the verdict highlights the state government's failure to conduct the selection process fairly. The High Court annulled the selection lists released in June 2020 and January 2022 and ordered the preparation of a new list within three months.
