A controversy has erupted over who should hoist the flag at Delhi's Independence Day ceremony. Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia criticized Lt Governor V K Saxena for opposing an elected minister's role in the event. The General Administration Department (GAD) rejected a direction from Minister Gopal Rai to arrange for Education Minister Atishi to hoist the national flag, as stated in a letter by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to the LG.
