Shiv Sena MP Sandipan Bhumre and other leaders of the ruling party have emphasized the need for a consensus and gaining the confidence of the Muslim community before making any amendments to the Waqf Act. The proposed amendment bill, introduced in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, aims to change the law governing waqf boards, including ensuring the representation of Muslim women and non-Muslims in these bodies.
