The Manipur State Assembly created a committee to probe illegal migrations, led by Minister Awangbow Newmai. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh revealed 10,675 illegal immigrants detected over five years. The state has suspended the Free Movement Regime and is enhancing border security with plans for new police stations and border fencing.
