The Congress criticised the government for India's declining garment exports, pointing out that Bangladesh and Vietnam have surpassed India's exports in the past decade, attributing the situation to the government's inaction. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh highlighted Global Trade Research data, revealing that India's garment exports dropped from USD 15 billion in 2013-14 to USD 14.5 billion in 2023-24, emphasizing the need for immediate action to boost the sector.
