Ajit Pawar's NCP faced a significant setback as several leaders from Pimpri Chinchwad, including local chief Ajit Gavhane, joined Sharad Pawar's faction in Pune. Gavhane, who resigned from his position and submitted his resignation to party president Sunil Tatkare, was joined by two former corporators. Gavhane noted differences in the development work carried out by the BJP in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation compared to that by Ajit and Sharad Pawar.
