Manipur assembly session from July 31

By Economic Times - 2 months ago
The Manipur government plans to convene the Legislative Assembly on July 31, following recent violence between the Meitei and Kuki-Zomi communities. The Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum has raised concerns over alleged bias by security forces and called for a political solution to the ongoing conflict. The forum also disputed the Chief Minister's claim of peace talks and requested the introduction of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act in certain areas. Ethnic tensions have resulted in casualties, injuries, and displacement since May last year. Stay informed for further developments on the situation in Manipur.
