West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticised Governor CV Ananda Bose for delaying the swearing-in of TMC MLAs, citing safety concerns raised by women about visiting the Raj Bhavan. Banerjee argued that the Governor should not obstruct the elected representatives from fulfilling their duties and suggested alternatives to the traditional venue for oath-taking. MLAs Sayantika Bandyopadhyay and Rayat Hossain Sarkar protested outside the state secretariat demanding to be allowed to take their oaths in the assembly.
