SP MP Afzal Ansari, brother of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari, attributed BJP's success of winning 30 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh to CM Yogi Adityanath. He stated that PM Modi's influence was limited to three seats and that without Yogi's efforts in Varanasi, retaining the seat would have been challenging. Ansari claimed that Yogi's strategy was crucial in avoiding a potential setback for BJP in the state. He accused the government of protecting criminals by allegedly killing his brother.
