In the first general election post the abrogation of Article 370, former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti lost. BJP retained its 2019 seats. Abdul Rashid Sheikh, in jail, won Baramulla. Rashid got 470,000 votes, defeating Abdullah. Voters expressed anger over the August 5, 2019 decisions.
