Down with autocratic Anglo autocorrects!

By Economic Times - 5 months ago
The modern horror story is autocorrect, which often mocks non-Anglophonic names. The 'I am not a typo' campaign in Britain demands technology to be more inclusive and aware of diverse names. Names like Vivekananda should not be autocorrected to 'Vivekamunand' or 'vindaloo'. All names should be treated equally, but software biases often show through. The campaign found that thousands of names were autocorrected in 2021 alone. Non-Anglophone name-holders are urged to unite against this 'correctional' tyranny.
