Singh accused Ranaut of disrespecting the spiritual leader, while Ranaut blamed Congress for orchestrating the protest. The incident followed Ranaut's controversial tweet about the Dalai Lama last year. Both parties filed complaints. Singh and Ranaut outlined their priorities for the Mandi constituency.
