West Bengal saw a high voter turnout of over 76% in the three Lok Sabha seats where polling took place. Balurghat recorded the highest turnout at 79.09%, followed by Raiganj at 76.18% and Darjeeling at 74.76%. The polling was peaceful with no reports of untoward incidents. A total of 47 candidates, including state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar, contested in the second phase, which had 51.17 lakh eligible voters. To ensure security, 272 companies of CAPFs and 12,983 state police personnel were deployed.
