Special polling stations arranged for 5,000 voters displaced by Manipur violence

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, 29 special polling stations have been set up for about 5,000 internally displaced people in Manipur who are currently living in camps due to ethnic violence. These stations will allow them to vote in the elections. Officials have made all arrangements in accordance with guidance from the central government. Imphal West Deputy Commissioner Kiran Kumar stated that while people displaced within the district will vote at their designated stations, special arrangements have been made for those from other constituencies.
