Former Union minister Birender Singh and his ex-MLA wife Prem Lata rejoined the Congress after a decade, following their son Brijendra Singh's recent return to the party. Birender Singh, a former BJP member, cited a homecoming of both residence and ideology. Congress leaders welcomed their return, expressing optimism for party strength in Haryana.
