A severe storm in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Coochbehar districts led to five deaths, multiple injuries, and widespread property damage. Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured assistance to the affected states and expressed condolences. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the affected areas, met with families of the deceased, and assessed the damage. Governor CV Ananda Bose also inspected the affected regions.
