The initial mobilisation of central security forces for the upcoming general elections has been completed. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Election Commission of India (ECI) are discussing the release of paramilitary companies for election duties, considering ongoing security operations in Jammu and Kashmir and Manipur. ECI has requested around 3,400 paramilitary companies for various election-related tasks, with the highest demand in West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir.
