Congress suffered a significant setback in Gujarat as its Rajya Sabha member and former Union minister, Naran Rathwa, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with his son and numerous supporters. Rathwa, a tribal leader from Chhota Udepur, Gujarat, who served multiple terms in the Lok Sabha, made the move ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
