Amidst speculation of potential cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha election, Samajwadi Party MLA Manoj Kumar Pandey resigned from his position as Chief Whip. He cited his discontent and desire for spiritual pilgrimage as reasons for his resignation. Another SP MLA, Rakesh Pratap Singh, expressed his intention to vote independently, following his inner conscience.
