Activist Manoj Jarange has ended his 17-day hunger strike over the Maratha quota issue, but will continue his agitation until the Maharashtra government issues Kunbi caste certificates to extended family members, enabling them to avail reservation benefits. Jarange's decision comes after both houses of the state legislature passed a bill providing separate reservation for the Maratha community.
