The BJP has accused the TMC leader Kunal Ghosh of providing state-sponsored protection to Shajahan Sheikh, a TMC strongman accused of sexual atrocities and land grabbing in West Bengal. The BJP spokesperson alleged that the TMC government has a dictatorial mindset and is focused on saving rapists. The Calcutta High Court clarified that there is no stay on Sheikh's arrest, and Ghosh previously stated that Sheikh would be arrested in seven days.
