Hemant Soren remanded to judicial custody in money laundering case

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was remanded to judicial custody until February 22 by a special PMLA court in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam. Soren, who is the executive president of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, was previously in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). His lawyer, Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan, stated that they will file a bail application for him. The ED did not seek an extension of Soren's remand.
