Swami Prasad Maurya resigned as the national general secretary of the Samajwadi Party, accusing the party's leadership of discrimination and hypocrisy. In a letter to SP president Akhilesh Yadav, party secretary Ram Govind Chaudhary urged Yadav not to accept Maurya's resignation, stating that he is fighting against the "poison" spread by the RSS and BJP.
