Senior Congress MLA C J Chavda has resigned from his assembly membership in Gujarat, reducing the party's strength in the house to 15 ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Chavda, who was elected from Vijapur in Mehsana district in December 2022, submitted his resignation and no further details were provided. This comes after another Congress MLA, Chirag Patel, also resigned, further reducing the party's strength in the assembly.
