Following the attack on January 5, Bengal BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar had written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking central intervention into the Sandeshkhali incident. “If BJP comes to power in Bengal in 2026, we will introduce the Annapurna scheme for women in Bengal and we will give Rs 2000 to every women. At present, only 30% women are getting Lakshmir Bhandar in the state,” Majumdar said.
