Congress tries to convince Milind Deora not to quit

By Economic Times - 10 months ago
Milind was upset that the Congress was willing to accede to the UBT demand that the Congress take just one seat, that of the Mumbai North which is anyway a very difficult seat for the Congress, while leaving all its traditional seats to its new allies, the UBT and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar). While party cadres in Mumbai are miffed, Congress leadership has said that their reading of the situation is that they have left more seats in Mumbai to the UBT as they feel that they would get the 'sympathy' votes from the Mumbai electorate after the Shiv Sena split.
