PUP hailed 2024 White and Case Governance Organization of the Year

THE Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) was hailed the grand winner of the White and Case Governance Organization of the Year among six finalists at the 15th Asia CEO Awards 2024 held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Newport World Resorts, Pasay City, on Oct. 8, 2024.

The other finalists were Cloudstaff, Immuni Global Inc., Land Bank of the Philippines, Tech Mahindra Limited and Zenutna Holdings Corp.

PUP President Manuel Muhi, PhD, received the trophy.

The Asia CEO Awards, presented by Robinsons Land, is considered a must-attend for business leaders in the region. It aims to promote the Philippines as a top business destination for global companies. The event recognizes people and orgnaizations that have contributed to the development of the Philippines' economic capacity.

It is one of the most prestigious awards events recognizing leadership and accomplishments across various industries, including government, business and social enterprise.

In its 15th year, the event continues to spotlight exceptional contributions to economic progress and sustainability.

"PUP exemplifies an organization that is truly worth emulating for its governance. Its vision is to advance an inclusive, equitable, and globally relevant polytechnic education toward national development," Muhi said.

"PUP demonstrated exceptional leadership through initiatives like the University Pantry and Education on Wheels, addressing the needs of marginalized communities and ensuring uninterrupted education during and post-Covid-19 pandemic. Further, its transformational university leadership, ethical stewardship of resources, effective human resource management, and smart campuses made PUP a model governance organization," he added.

Accordingly, the award affirms PUP's commitment to excellence as it aims to provide outstanding performance in teaching and learning, research, extension services and community engagements, and internal governance.
