Last and seventh game again?

By Manila Times - 3 weeks ago

Looks like this one might go down the wire till the seventh and last game again? Initially, this corner thought it was too easy for TNT at the start having a 2-0 lead. Until our friend and No. 1 national coach Tim Cone found the formula to contain the conferences best import Hollis-Jefferson with double and triple teaming up in the inside lane and tire the guy out in four games. Now, its reverse. Unless TNT can find the defensive five, its all over but the cheering. You see, when Thompson and Brownlee tires out, Holt comes in, with unheralded Ahanmisi and Aguilar by the wings.

And worse for TNT by putting Jefferson to defend Scottie Thomson who will really tire the import out to the delight of Ginebra. I've never seen Scottie slow down all these years. Who's actually a jumping bee all over the court. If TNT Coach Chot Reyes doesn't get this one, ball game might be over for him. Everyone can now see the magnanimity of PLDT sports icon MVP, who has given Chot all the chances to redeem himself after the last FIBA fiasco with Gilas Pilipinas last year when we hosted the World Cup. Even the previous TNT Coach Jojo Lastimosa had to step aside for Chot after coaching TNT to its last championship and just accept being team manager. Good luck to TNT then!

Why I love UAAP

Last weekend, we saw the shocker of this year's UAAP basketball season when cellar dweller National University upset favored and former UAAP champion UP by 20 points. And NU doesn't even have an import, who got injured in the teams very first game against DLSU in the first round. Unbelievable! Made my weekend, not just my day.

POC elections will be held Nov 29. Philippine Olympic Committee Presidency will be up for grabs between the incumbent head Bambol Tolentino and former PBA standout Chito Loyzaga, son of the world famous Caloy Loyzaga. Let's find out soon who has a better platform and future plans.
